In case you weren't aware, you're human, which carries a lot of meaning (most of it made up).
Have you ever found yourself walking down the street or scrolling through social media and comparing yourself to EVERYONE you come across?
Or judged yourself critically because of where you “Should” be in life?
Or maybe you have that little voice in your head that speaks so harshly to you with words that you would NEVER use with anyone else?
Do any of these sound like you?
Afraid of what others will think
Still wondering what you’re going to do when you “grow up” and fearing you’ve already missed the boat on getting it together
My friend, you are in the right place, and you are NOT alone.
We live in a world that is built on false images turned into ultimate #goals #bodygoals #couplegoals and our own personal PR machines to spin and fake our way into looking “perfect” when in reality, we’re ALL just trying to figure “it” out as we go along.
We all experience comparison, doubt, fear, embarrassment.
AND we all experience Hope and Joy and Courage and Laughter.
The strange thing is, many of us are spending so much time trying to craft the perfect image we’re forgetting what or why we’re living our lives in the first place.
And this is where Human Happens was born.
Human Happens is all about embracing the beautiful, messy, chaotic, “thing” we call life and learning to really and truly appreciate ourselves along the way.
I want to welcome you to Human Happens and invite you to learn more about how you can embrace your messiness, and imagine what would be possible if you weren’t so damn hard on yourself all the time.
How would life feel if you freed yourself (and believe me, this is something ONLY YOU can do for yourself, no one else) from the weight of comparison, judgment, criticism, and dare I say self-loathing? The freedom to be you, to share what’s REALLY going on for you?
Stick around to find out more about how to CREATE that freedom for yourself, it’s possible my friend. Freedom is just around the corner.

Life is not always exceptionally interesting and exciting, but that does not mean we shouldn’t celebrate and enjoy each moment of it.
I’m going to go big and philosophical on you right now, stay with me (keeping in mind I am not a philosopher, so this is not a technical question). Are you really living?
“As you become more aligned with the truth of who you are, the question of liking yourself goes away. It is a natural state of being.” ― Rachel Archelaus
Today’s quote is so powerful it is hard to put into words the meanings behind it, as it practically speaks for itself. By now however, you know that is not my style, so let’s take a deep dive into the words of Banani Ray.
When was the last time you heard the words “I love you”? Did your spouse tell you on the way out the door? Did your child tell you as you dropped them off at the school bus? Did your mom tell you as you hung up the phone? These three words evoke so much each…
This past weekend was beautifully and terrifyingly life changing for me. After spending a weekend training with future life coaches, I am so full of inspirations and things I want to share with you my friend, I just don’t even know where to begin.
Do you remember doing analogies in school? For example: Tree: forest :: cactus : ______ Fish: ocean :: bird: _____ Pretty simple right? We would probably see these on our children’s homework in the early years of schooling But what about this one?.
Stay with me for just a moment before you write me off as a crazed pessimist, this is actually a positive post I promise! Scott Westerfield best sums up my point in his book Afterworlds.
Gratitude. In itself, just one small word, but in meaning, in purpose and in practice, this is one humungous word that has the ability to transform any given moment. I think Anthony Robbins expressed this concept so beautifully: “When you are grateful, fear disappears and abundance appears”
The concept of meditation has come up many times during my spiritual journey. I have read the many benefits, I have heard all the ways it cures every aspect of life, I have even studied the many major figures who tout it’s life changing abilities. So I tried it. Many times. And each time it…
